FAQs
Common questions.
The things people ask most often before reaching out. If your question isn't here, please email us at hello@thecorepractice.com.
Do you see anyone outside Oregon?
+
No. All clients must be physically located in Oregon during sessions, per state licensure law. We're licensed only in Oregon.
Do you work with minors, couples, or families?
+
No. We are an adults-only practice (18+) offering individual therapy. We do not see children, teens, couples, or families.
Are sessions in person or video?
+
All sessions are conducted via a secure, HIPAA-compliant video platform. We do not offer in-person appointments.
How long are sessions?
+
Standard sessions are 50 minutes. Intake sessions are 60 minutes. EMDR sessions are typically 75 minutes.
Do you take insurance?
+
Yes. We are in-network with Aetna, Anthem BCBS, Regence BCBS, Moda Health, and Providence Health Plan. Coverage varies by plan — we recommend contacting your insurance company to confirm your benefits, and we're happy to help answer questions during your free consultation.
What if I'm in crisis?
+
We are not a crisis service. If you're in immediate danger or having thoughts of suicide, please call or text 988, go to your nearest emergency room, or call 911.
How do I get started?
+
Reach out via our contact page or call (503) 583-2117. We'll schedule a free 15-minute video consultation to see if we're a good fit and match you with a clinician.
How often will we meet?
+
Most clients begin weekly, then taper to biweekly as the work settles. Frequency is a conversation, not a rule.
