Recovery & Addiction
Recovery isn't a straight line — and you don't have to walk it alone.
At The Core Practice, we work with adults navigating substance use, addiction, and the ongoing work of recovery. Whether you're early in the process of making changes, working to maintain sobriety, or trying to understand how substances have been showing up in your life, therapy can be a meaningful part of that journey.
How We Approach Addiction
We don't believe in a one-size-fits-all model for recovery. Substance use often develops alongside other struggles — anxiety, trauma, depression, grief, or chronic stress — and addressing those underlying experiences is just as important as addressing the substance use itself. Our approach is collaborative and non-judgmental. We meet you where you are.
Cori Bakazan, LPC, CADC, CEAP brings specialized training in addiction counseling and employee assistance, with over a decade of experience supporting adults through substance use challenges and dual diagnosis. Lisa Dickman, LCSW, also works with clients for whom addiction is part of a larger picture — particularly when trauma, grief, or major life transitions are involved.
